It Stopped.

It stopped! In time for my birthday! I have never gone to the coast and eaten an ice cream on my birthday ever before... nor has my birthday ever been described as the hottest day of the year. I went to Padstow - see below.

Meanwhile, I am not feeling very well. Too much ice-cream? Too much sun?? Or maybe it's the realisation that I am now a lady of a certain age???? And that next year it will be a very BIG birthday.

In recent times I appear to have fallen off the internet; I still lurk to see what my old blogging buddies and Facebook friends are doing, but I feel quiet and haven't got a lot to say for myself. I don't even feel the desire to slap up any posts on my calligraphy blog even though I have been busy working on stuff for a friend... maybe this is the problem - my brain has been engaged with work... crikey... after years of being a lazy baggage I have finally hit upon the joys of work. And in the evenings, I am tired. I stop. And sometimes I look at my old Blogrol and this advert springs to mind....

I hope this is the right advert, as I haven't got any sound on my PC...

Anyhow, for the time being, I feel buggy and I feel odd. And, if anyone wants to know - I haven't seen any stray aeroplanes... and no, I don't know what's going to happen in Crimea, but it's all very worrying.

My next birthday is a huge birthday. I lied when I started this blog... I knocked a few years off my age...According to unofficial records I started this blog when I was 35... 15 years ago... but, this isn't quite right??!!!

I really don't know where the time goes... one minute my blog reader tells me I have 12 unread blog posts to read, the next it's up to 200 and 4 weeks have zapped by. I seem to be growing hazy minded as I get older and I walk around in a mist of vagueness. I must sort it out.

  5. (Belated) Happy Birthday! If it was clam ice cream, that might explain it!

PS: I feel so buggy I may have termites.

    1. Mr Lax: Clam ice cream?? I don't think we have this delicacy in the UK!
I think I have termites too.

  6. Happy Birthday! I know that feeling of not knowing what to post and being busy and feeling as if you're neglecting visiting friends. I've been that way lately, too. I've just been so busy, but not in a blog way that I can really think of anything interesting to say about it. I guess it happens to a lot of us.

    1. Mr Buttocks: This is exactly how it is! I am busy... but, as yet, I haven't found an interesting way of writing about it. I work on my own and my company is the television and the radio. On the radio they are talking about evidence of the Big Bang... I probably couldn't write about this in an informed way!

  9. Happy Birthday. The ice cream gave you more than a brain freeze?
So the hazy shade of winter finally stopped?

Down by the river side there's bound to a better ride than what you got planned.

Hang on to your hopes my friend.

  13. "I don't want to grow old" I hear people say. Well you know the alternative. Happy belated birthday Scarlet! You are as old as the man that you feel. I wish you hadn't mentioned aeroplanes. I'm due to go on one in a few hours time, I said to my mother this morning, if anything should happen to the plane and the media come calling on you for an interview, remember, champagne blonde hair tint and FULL make-up including false eyelashes and wear something classy, like that leopard print and roses top I bought for you, and if they ask for a picture of me whatever you do don't give em that photo of me chewing a toffee, I look like I've had a stroke. Oh it is a worry.

  14. Happy birthday, Scarlett, from tired old Minneapolis, where we've decided that winter is our FAVORITE and no use in indulging any of those other silly seasons. I'm glad that you got blue skies -- now if you'll just shoo them westward?

Big number. Feh. What is a big number? Make nothing of it. Keep creating art and filling this space and you'll be FINE.

You need a break, that's all. The break is imposing itself on you. The wheel will turn. You'll see.

  19. It's not nice feeling buggy and I also find work interferes with blogging and other things. Just heard I missed an appointment this afternoon and I almost missed the garden rubbish on Tuesday. Even writing everything down isn't enough when stretched.

I'm already bloody old so have no sympathy at all for you feeling old but do hope you're feeling better now. I am a bit bored with the bloggy thing though am trying to keep up with everyone's doings and things, cos I haven't stopped loving you all really. I love those seaside towns. So picturesque and friendly. If I ever go to England, I'll sure spend most of my stay in these quaint little towns.

  24. Flying in here in a slipstreamy way on the back of the birthday Hog. All of which means a bright and breezy (belated) (Padstow) birthday to you, rougest of missuses.

I'm afraid that since the demise of Google reader, all my links have done a Brucie.

    But I'm fixed now.

  25. I know what you mean about falling off the internet. Every time I go on Facebook it's a blog post that won't happen - or something like that. I mostly hate Facebook but I can't seem to escape it.

I'm glad you're still around here, anyway!
